The 7hills Day Center was established in 2000 to help homeless individuals and families get the support they need to become self sufficient.  It is a place to get the resources they need to get jobs, housing, food, and clothing.  The day center also offers showers, internet service and telephone access and many other things most of us take for granted.  Additionally, the Day Center offers a wide variety of counseling services for clients.

The Walker Family Residential Community provides transitional housing for individuals and families to build life skills and save toward permanent housing.*Dormitory housing (16 residents)

  • Family housing (3 families with children) In addition, the Walker Family Residential Community provides permanent housing for disabled individuals.  Providing increased wellness and meaningfulness of their time in supportive housing.
  • Efficiency housing (8 disabled persons)

Funding for this project was made possible by the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation.
The FICASSO project is a short-term program aimed at preventing homelessness or re-housing homeless families through financial assistance and case management.  The goal of the program is to achieve housing stability, improve employment or educational status, establish financial management skills, and provide a healthy family environment within 18 months.  The FICASSO project is made possible through government grants.

About the Center:

Seven Hills originated from a University of Arkansas student project that assessed the needs of individuals visiting the Salvation Army in Fayetteville within a two-year period (1998 - 2000). When the Center was founded in the winter of 2000, it set forth to fill a gap in services within the community. Seven Hills began as a day shelter providing basic services such as food, shelter, showers, laundry and telephone services. Since then, the center has created three transitional housing programs to aid individuals to achieve self-sufficiency.

In April 2001, the Center began its first men's transitional housing program within our facilities, titled "Fresh Start." In 2004, the acquisition of a second building allowed the Center to launch a transitional housing program for a veteran's recovery program and a transitional women's program.

Today, Seven Hills has expanded its services to lessen the number of those effected by homelessness within our community. All of this was made possible through a compassionate vision, and the generosity and support of many individuals, churches, and foundations within Northwest Arkansas.
